Editorial Policy
Our guides exist to help you post better content, not to fill a page with keywords. Here's how we decide what to write, how we check it, and what happens when we get something wrong.

What we write about
We write about the jobs our tools help with: image sizes, file formats, compression, thumbnails, captions, subtitles and video formats for social media. Every guide should answer a question creators actually ask, and most link to a tool that does the job for free.
How we research and test
- Official sources first. Platform sizes, limits and rules come from the platforms' own help centers (YouTube Help, Instagram Help Center, TikTok Support and so on), not from other blogs.
- We try it ourselves. Settings and steps are tested with the tools on this site before they're published, using real images, videos and subtitle files.
- We say when sources disagree. If a platform's documentation is unclear or recently changed, the guide says so rather than guessing.
How we use AI
We use AI writing assistants to help draft and edit some pages, much like a spell checker or a second pair of eyes. A person decides what each page covers, checks every fact and figure against the sources above, and tests the steps before anything goes live. We don't publish pages just to rank for search terms.
Keeping pages current
Social platforms change their specs often, so we review guides regularly and whenever a platform announces a change. Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Recent examples: YouTube raising the thumbnail file limit to 50 MB for desktop uploads, and Instagram cutting the hashtag limit to 5 per post.
Ads and independence
Advertisers have no say in what we write or which tools we recommend, and we don't accept paid placements in our guides. If we ever link to a product we earn money from, we'll say so right next to the link. See the disclaimer for more.
