SRT to VTT Subtitle Converter
Convert SRT subtitles to WebVTT and back with accurate timestamps.
Edit SRT files online and fix subtitle timing in your browser: correct text, adjust start and end times, shift every cue to sync with your video, and add, delete or reorder cues. Works with SRT and VTT, and you can preview the captions on your own video as you edit.
Drop an .srt or .vtt file to edit
Up to 5 MB. Opened on your device only.
If every subtitle is early or late by the same amount, use Shift with “Later” or “Earlier” on all cues instead of editing each one.
Aim for cues of roughly 1–7 seconds and no more than two short lines, so viewers can read them comfortably.
To switch formats without editing, the SRT to VTT converter is faster.
If every line is early or late by the same amount, open the file, enter the offset in seconds and select Later or Earlier to shift all cues. To fix only part of the file, select those cues first. See how to sync subtitles with video.
Click a cue's start or end time and type a new value such as 01:23.450 (minutes:seconds.milliseconds), then press Enter. With a video loaded, you can also play to the right moment and use Set start or Set end.
Errors (red) must be fixed before exporting: every cue must end after it starts. Warnings (amber) flag cues that overlap or are out of chronological order; players usually tolerate them, and “Sort by time” fixes ordering.
Yes. Undo and Redo cover edits, additions, deletions, reordering and timing shifts. “Revert to original” restores the file as you opened it (and can itself be undone).
Any format your browser can play, typically MP4 (H.264), WebM and, in Safari, MOV. The video is only used for preview.
