JPG, PNG or WebP up to 50 MB. Your image is processed on this device and is never uploaded.
Crop fills the whole frame and trims the edges, which suits feed posts. Fit keeps the entire image and adds a border, which is useful when text or a logo must stay fully visible.
Downscaling keeps detail, but enlarging a small image makes it soft. When the tool warns about upscaling, use a bigger source if you have one.
Use JPG or WebP for photos and PNG for graphics with sharp text or transparency. See PNG vs JPG vs WebP for details.

Sizes reflect common recommendations as of October 2026. Platforms update their specifications, so confirm critical sizes in each platform's help center.
Choose the Instagram size you need (for example Portrait 4:5, 1080 × 1350), then pick Fit + blur or Fit + border. Your whole photo is kept and the empty space is filled with a blurred copy of the image or a solid color, so Instagram has nothing to crop.
Common sizes are 1080 × 1080 (square, 1:1), 1080 × 1350 (portrait, 4:5) and 1080 × 1440 (3:4), and 1080 × 1920 for Stories and Reels. See the social media image sizes cheat sheet for every platform.
No, not unless you choose Stretch. Crop, Fit + border and Fit + blur always keep the original proportions. When the new size has the same shape as your image, the tool simply scales it.
No. All processing happens in your browser on your device, so your image is never sent to our servers.
Files up to 50 MB and outputs up to 10,000 pixels per side (40 megapixels) are supported. iPhones and iPads can fail above about 16.7 megapixels; the tool warns you when you go over that.
A few older browsers can display WebP but cannot create it. If that happens, the tool tells you instead of saving the wrong format; choose PNG or JPG instead.
No. The resized file is a fresh image drawn from the pixels, so camera metadata like GPS location is not copied. The photo's orientation is applied before resizing.
