Privacy Policy

We built Toolmivo so your photos, videos and captions never have to leave your computer or phone. This page explains exactly what that means and the few small things we do see.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

This policy covers Toolmivo at www.toolmivo.online ("we", "us", "the site"). We've tried to write it the way we'd explain it to a friend, without hiding anything in legal language. If something is unclear, ask us.

Who runs this site

Toolmivo is a small, independent project that makes free tools for people who post online. We are the controller of the limited information described below. You can reach us at contact@toolmivo.com.

Your files and text stay on your device

This is the most important part. When you pick an image, video or subtitle file, or paste in a caption, the work happens in your own browser:

  • Image tools use the Canvas feature that is built into every modern browser.
  • Video tools use FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly, running in a background worker on your device.
  • Caption, hashtag and subtitle tools are plain JavaScript running in the page.

We never receive your files or text. There is no upload step and no server on our side that could store them, so we can't look at them even if we wanted to. Finished results are saved through your browser's normal download. Your files sit in the browser's memory only while the tab is open, and closing the tab or hitting reset clears them.

The video engine download

The first time you use a video tool, your browser downloads the video engine (around 32 MB) from our own site. It's an ordinary file download, and your videos aren't sent anywhere.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, like almost every host on the internet, keeps short-lived technical logs when your browser asks for a page: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs exist to keep the site secure and running. The host stores them under its own retention rules, and we don't use them to work out who you are.

Cookies and local storage

The site itself doesn't need cookies to work. The third-party services described below (Google Analytics) do set cookies in your browser, and you can block or delete them in your browser settings without breaking any of the tools. Separately, we remember your light or dark mode choice in your browser's local storage under the key cth-theme. That never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Fonts and icons load from our own domain, so reading a page doesn't send requests to Google Fonts or similar services.

Our cookie policy lists each cookie, who sets it and how long it lasts.

Advertising

There are no ads on the site right now. If we add them later (most likely Google AdSense), we'll update this page first so you know which cookies they use and how to opt out.

Analytics and tracking

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which tools and pages they use, and roughly where they come from (country, device type, the site that linked here). This helps us decide which tools to improve. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) and collects information like your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view. Google processes this on our behalf; you can read how Google uses this information.

Analytics never sees your files or the text you paste into the tools, because those never leave your device. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. We don't use tracking pixels or session recordings, and we don't sell personal information.

When you email us

If you write to us, we get your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply, and we delete the conversation once it's no longer needed. Please don't attach your files; we never need them to help.

Your rights

Since the tools don't collect personal information, there's usually nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete. You still have every right to ask. That includes visitors in the EU and UK under the GDPR, and residents of California and other US states with privacy laws. Email us and we'll answer within the time the law requires, normally within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If anything about how the site handles information changes, such as adding a new third-party service, we'll update this page before the change goes live. The date at the top shows when it was last edited.
