Social Media Image Resizer
Resize photos to exact sizes or platform presets with crop, fit and fill modes.
Make a YouTube thumbnail for free: no sign-up, no login and no watermark. Design on a 16:9 canvas with your own background photo or a solid color, add bold headlines with outlines and shadows, drag them into place and download a PNG or JPG at 1280 × 720 or in 4K (3840 × 2160).
Click text to select it, drag to move, arrow keys to nudge (Shift for bigger steps), Delete to remove. The purple box only appears in the editor, not in your export.

Thumbnails are often seen at phone size. A short, large headline that complements your title reads better than a full sentence.
Light text with a dark outline (or the reverse) stays readable on any photo. Use “Darken image” when the background is busy.
YouTube overlays the video length in the bottom-right corner, so avoid placing important text there.

No. The thumbnail maker works without an account, and your images stay on your device.
Use a 16:9 image at least 640 pixels wide, in JPG or PNG. 1280 × 720 is the long-standing standard and looks sharp on phones and laptops; YouTube now also accepts 4K (3840 × 2160) for big TV screens. Files can be up to 50 MB when you upload from a computer, but only 2 MB from the YouTube mobile app. This editor exports either size.
No. Exports contain only your design.
Yes. Text stays editable until you export: select a layer to change its words, font, size, color, outline, shadow or position.
Anton, Bebas Neue, Montserrat, Oswald and Permanent Marker are included (all free, open-licensed fonts), plus Inter Tight and common system fonts. Impact depends on your operating system.
Detailed photos produce large PNG files. It only matters if you set thumbnails from the YouTube mobile app, which caps them at 2 MB; YouTube Studio on a computer accepts up to 50 MB. If you upload from your phone, export as JPG instead. The editor warns you when a file is over 2 MB.
